3rdโ€“6th Class had a lovely morning out today in the Marion Hall as part of the Cruinniรบ na nร“g celebrations. On the walk over, we took the opportunity to learn the names of the three bridges in town and lots of facts about the River Erne. We had a really interesting talk with Lisa and Luke from LAWPRO, who taught us all about the importance of looking after our rivers and river wildlife. After this, we became scientists! Using water samples from the local Abbey River, we identified lots of river insects. The boys and girls were really engaged, listened well, and asked some fantastic questions. A huge thank you to Barry Sweeny for making today happen โ€“ much appreciated! Donโ€™t forget: Tomorrow from 10โ€“11am, all children and parents are invited to a litter pick along the River Erne. Meet at Ballyshannon Credit Union. Judging by the childrenโ€™s enjoyment of today, it promises to be another great experience! ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฆ‹
We had another wonderful day yesterday with our Aspire Partner School, St Conalโ€™s NS. The children thoroughly enjoyed their trip on the Donegal Bay Waterbus and were full of excitement throughout the day. We even managed to dodge the showers and enjoy a lovely walk along The Bank Walk. ๐Ÿ˜Š St. Conalโ€™s NS
Best of luck to all our past pupils who are starting their Junior and Leaving Certificate exams ๐Ÿ€
Our 4thโ€“6th Class pupils recently completed the RNLI Water Safety webinar programme. With beach days and summer adventures just around the corner, itโ€™s so important that children understand how to stay safe in and around water. This message is especially relevant for us locally, with some nearby beaches having dangerous rip currents and four rescues reported in the last week alone. The knowledge and awareness gained through this programme could make a real difference. Well done to all the pupils who took part.
