About our School
Kilbarron N.S. is a small two-teacher school located on the outskirts of Ballyshannon on the Belleek Road. We offer a warm, welcoming, fun and safe learning environment. We are very fortunate to have lots of space and facilities, both inside and outside the school. Our classrooms are colourful and very well equipped with learning resources, interactive touch screens, Chromebooks, iPads and tablets for all children. Presently we have two classroom teachers, two support teachers and three special needs assistants working with 40 pupils. At break times the children have access to a large yard space with a full-size lined basketball court, a large grass area with a set of goal posts, a school garden, a sensory garden and a slide and climbing frame.
We offer hot school lunches for all children as part of a DEIS Initiative. We are a Green School and are working towards our 5th Green Flag for Biodiversity. We are a recognised and awarded Active School and all classes receive Gaelic, Rugby, Basketball, Hurling and Soccer sessions along with two blocks of 8 week Swimming Lessons per year. We take part in the Amber Flag initiative promoting positive mental health. We offer gardening lessons in our polytunnel with our school gardener. The school performs an annual Christmas Play for family members and the school community.
